SWEDISH GRAND PRIX

What a round this was for RAY FRANCE (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) with a commanding victory in the Swedish Grand Prix propelling him 9 points clear at the top of the leaderboard after his main rivals for the title, PETR MARKO (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) and FILLIPPE CHONG (NECRONS) both scored 10 points less than him in the round.  The trio look well set to battle it out for the rostrum places in the final round of the series, in Poland in week 24.  In the race to finish in the top 8 and qualify for next season's series without the need to go through the GP Challenge meeting, JACK HAGEN, JACEK KLECHA, RAFAL ARANOWSKI and RHODRI SZCZYGIEL all look well placed, with a 10+ point gap over STEEN ERIKSEN in 9th spot.  It will be a particularly impressive achievement for Szczygiel who started the series as a reserve and didn't ride in the first round before coming in to replace an injured rider in Round 2 and keeping his place since after impressing hugely.  LOUIS JOOSSENS was the rider injured for the Danish GP, which gave Szczygiel his chance, and 12 points here keeps him in line for a top 8 finish, which would be an impressive comeback after being joint 16th following his absence in Denmark.  Still, plenty to race for as we head to Poland in 3 weeks' time to discover who will be crowned the 2021 Sim Speedway World Champion.
