GP star and defending champion started as a huge favourite here but wasn't quite at his brilliant best and RYAN ROY was the first to lower his colours when he beat him in heat 6; Roy
recovered from a pointless first ride to go unbeaten and claim victory in the meeting, with Hagen eventually claiming 2nd place after a run-off. Roy leads the septet of riders progressing to the GP Challenge Semi Finals with Jaques Moursin, 3rd place and completing the rostrum here, and Will
Pucovskiu joining him without any realy worries. Doug Monaghan also recorded double figures, a great effort after engine problems in his
first heat which surely cost him at least a run-off for the title with progression another step towards a GP place some consolation at least. The others who will compete in the GP Challenge Semis are Rickie Keyse, Pat Watkiss and, the new Rest of the World champion's older brother Jackson
Roy.
